PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION OF PARTICLES ON THIN WALL METAL ITEM Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC C23C4/00 C23C4/02 B23H9/00 

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in creation of irregular artificial roughness on surface of item by vibration electric arc treatment of surface of metal item facilitating transfer of drops of melted electrode metal on surface of item and in their crystallisation. Further, surface is prepared for application of coating. It is applied by sputtering heated particles of non-metallic adding material on treated surface or by pouring treated surface over with a layer of liquid plastic. Vibration electric arc treatment is performed with an electrode of small diametre and composition similar or close to composition of metal item by low power electric arc with current strength 1-6 A and voltage 6-12 V.

EFFECT: increased strength of adhesion of applied layer with base of thin wall metal item and raised strength of adhesion links due to additional thermal activation; simplified process of coating application on thin wall metal item.
