FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular to apparatuses for plasma application of coatings of powder materials onto the working surfaces of various products. The unit consists of two plasma torches, wherein each of the torches is equipped with an annular input assembly for powder materials with gas-dynamic focusing, wherein one plasma torch is intended for operation in a high-speed subsonic or supersonic turbulent mode of discharge of a plasma jet for applying coatings of metal materials, and the other operates in a low-speed subsonic laminar mode of discharge of a plasma jet for applying coatings of ceramic materials, wherein the gas-discharge chamber of each plasma torch, made in the form of a sectioned channel expanding from the cathode to the anode, has a different amount of sections depending on the required mode of discharge of the plasma jet, and the plasma torches and powder dispensers are switched from the control panel of the plasma unit using a plasma torch switching block.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at expanding the technological capabilities of the unit, improving the quality of the sprayed coatings and the productivity.
