SUBSTANCE: to support cell search, multiple (e.g., two) synchronisation transmissions are sent in a frame with non-uniform spacing. The first main synchronisation transmission is sent in a first location of a frame and the second main synchronisation transmission is sent in a second location of the frame. The first distance between the first and second locations in the frame is different from the second distance between the second location in the frame and the first location in the next frame. One additional synchronisation transmission is sent in a third location of the frame, wherein the third location is predetermined by shifting from the first location.
EFFECT: faster operation and reduced errors during cell search.
