FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to containers for food products and beverages and a coating method. The container has a metal substrate, wherein at least part of the metal substrate is coated with a coating made from a composition. The composition contains at least one resin which contains carboxyl groups, hydroxyl groups or combinations thereof. The composition contains a cross-linking agent selected from a group consisting of a phenol cross-linking agent, an amine-containing cross-linking agent and combinations thereof. The composition contains a catalyst selected from a group consisting of a titanium-containing catalyst, a zirconium-containing catalyst and combinations thereof. The composition is essentially free of bisphenol A.
EFFECT: improved operational characteristics of containers for food products and beverages.
