FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition for coating, which has good resistance to opacity, abrasion resistance, resistance to bubble formation, hardness and scratching resistance. The composition for coating includes aqueous dispersion, where aqueous dispersion contains more than one ethylene and (meth)acrylic acid copolymer, phenol cross-linking agent and water, where ethylene and (meth)acrylic acid copolymers have average-numbered molecular mass of 2500-4500 Da, average-weight molecular mass of 5500-9000 Da and (meth)acrylic acid content of 15-20 wt.%, where the composition for coating contains no more than 1.0 wt.% of bisphenol-A. In some embodiments, the composition for coating is used for coating substrates, such as tin cans and packaging materials for food and beverage storage. The composition for coating, according to the invention, can be produced by mixing the specified ethylene and (meth)acrylic acid copolymer and phenol cross-linking agent. Aqueous dispersion can include hydroxyalkylamide cross-linking agent.
