SUBSTANCE: cast iron contains the following components, wt %: carbon 3.0-3.7; silicon 2.0-2.4; manganese 0.5-0.8; rare-earth metals 0.003-0.05; calcium 0.002 - 0.03; magnesium 0.002-0.02; chrome 0.012-0.20; aluminium 0.002-0.02; vanadium 0.015-0.05; phorphorus 0.012-0.30; iron - the balance.
EFFECT: cast iron has high dynamic strength and wear resistance during friction.
