FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: N pairs of signals S1n, S2n, n=1,2,…,N, frequency f1n, f2n of which varies from pair to pair are generated, and the n-th pair of signals S1n, S2n, is used as the simultaneously emitted signals, with alternate change of these pairs in time in accordance with index n. The spread of the emitted frequencies f1n, f2n within each of the emitted pairs S1n, S2n is selected as constant or independent of the pair number, which enables to use the same reference signal at constant frequency f0=f2n-f1n to extract from the reflected signal, through synchronous detection thereof, the useful signal "generated" by the partial quadratic component of the current-voltage characteristic of semiconductor elements.
EFFECT: more secure operation of nonlinear radar sets and improved detection of objects containing semiconductor elements.
