FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: method is implemented by means of more rational use of the temporary resource provisioned for search of electronic devices, and expansion of functionality of the impulse metal detector by its complexation with a passive detector of the flow of magnetic impulses radiated by electronic devices. The distinctive feature of the offered active and passive pulse metal detector is wobbling of the period of repetition of its probing impulses, and the process of wobbling is controlled by binary and quantised signals received in passive operating mode of the pulse metal detector. The method of detection of electronic devices by the pulse metal detector provisions the generation of clock impulses, formation by means of the counter of clock impulses of sequence of cyclic impulses Cn (n = 1, 2, …, N) the front edge of which ends (n-1)th detection cycle, and the back front - starts nth detection cycle, organising within each nth cycle of series active and passive operating modes of the pulse metal detector, binary quantisation of results of processing of the received signals in active and passive modes, count of number of binary units of quantisation for each of the modes during N cycles and comparison of results of these calculations with threshold numbers, zeroing of the counter of clock impulses is in addition performed by units of binary quantisation received in the passive mode, and the active mode of each cycle starts with radiation of the probing impulse.

EFFECT: improvement of efficiency of detection of electronic devices.
