SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a first information code track of length N=2n, n reader elements placed along said track with angular spacing δ=360°/N, a second information code track of length M=2m, m reader elements placed along said track with angular spacing (δ+δ2), where δ2=360°/NM, a regular code track of length 2NM, uniformly quantised with sampling period δsk.=360o/2NM, a reader element for the regular code track displaced from the first of n reader elements by an angular distance k=2eδsk.+(δsk/2), n additional reader elements displaced from the last of n reader elements by an angular distance kn=(iδ+δsk) and placed along the first information code track with angular spacing equal to δ, m additional reader elements displaced from the first of m reader elements by an angular distance km=(j+m)δ+δsk., and placed along the second information code track with angular spacing (δ+δ2), a code converter, an inverter, AND elements, OR elements and decoders.
EFFECT: simple recursive code scale.
