FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: high-strength cast iron with spherical graphite contains the following, wt %: carbon 3.3-3.8; silicium 1.4-2.4; manganese 0.1-0.4; nickel 0.6-1.4; chrome 0.005-0.15; copper 0.05-0.15; phosphorus 0.005-0.04; sulphur 0.005-0.01; magnesium 0.04-0.08; vanadium 0.02-0.08; boron 0.006-0.015; rare-earth metals 0.006-0.02; calcium 0.002-0.06; barium 0.01-0.15; iron is the rest.
EFFECT: cast iron has high mechanical characteristics in large-capacity castings due to crushing of grain and increasing of fraction of graphite inclusions of regular spherical shape.
