FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: device for investigation of cup-type seals consists of housing with the main and auxiliary cup-type seals arranged in it, investigated shaft contacting it, electric motor of shaft drive and device for fluid supply to cavity between two investigated seals. Device is equipped with continuous fixation and processing system of light signal, which includes objective lens with UV radiation light-emitting diode container, controlled diaphragm, instrument with charge coupling, amplifier, analogue-to-digital converter, control unit and personal computer; at that, fluid has fluorescent additives, and cup-type seals are enveloped with special stop rings.
EFFECT: invention allows performing continuous monitoring and determining the time from the beginning of cup-type seal test till loss of its tightness, and time history of that volume; operating reliability is improved.
