FIELD: measuring technology
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring technology and can be used to control the performance of elastomeric seals, for example, lip seals, widely used in various branches of technology (mechanical engineering, automobile and tractor construction, aviation, etc.). The substance of the invention lies in the fact that the method for testing lip seals includes obtaining current signals proportional to the values of the longitudinal displacement of the contact zone along the shaft and the width of this contact using probing electrodes installed in the groove of the hollow shaft and in contact with the working surface of the lip seal, and the signals coming from the electrodes are amplified in amplifiers and then converted into optical signals, which are fed from the rotating shaft to the receiving unit, where by charge-coupled devices they are converted into electrical analog signals and, after digitization in an analog-to-digital converter, are analyzed electronically -computer for obtaining measurement results.
EFFECT: increasing the measurement accuracy by eliminating interference in the measurement information transmission circuits and allows you to measure the instantaneous value of the contact width of the lip seal with the shaft, as well as the displacement of the lip seal contact along the shaft simultaneously and locally at several points along the circumference of the shaft, to form graphs of the time dependences of the width the contact and displacement of the lip seal at the specified points of contact with the shaft.
