FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: light-emitting diode includes a semiconductor light-emitting element whose top is coated with an optically transparent compound containing luminophore particles distributed in the compound. According to the invention, distribution of luminophore particles in the compound is characterised by their layerwise hexagonal arrangement, wherein the distance between the peripheral areas of neighbouring luminophore particles is not more than 1.5 times the mean diameter of the plurality of particles of the used luminophore.
EFFECT: high consistency of light flux and chromaticity of radiation of the light-emitting diode.
