SUBSTANCE: visited network, which services a roaming subscriber, has a mediation online charging system (OCS) which supports communication with a home OCS in the home network of the subscriber. The mediation OCS sends the home OCS in the home network, which is in subscriber (130) roaming mode, an online charging request, which contains a request for data for charging the roaming subscriber. The mediation OCS receives from the home OCS a response for the online charging request which contains data for charging the roaming subscriber. The mediation OCS then processes the charging data in order to monitor the credit for one or more network elements of the visited network servicing the connection.
EFFECT: high reliability when servicing roaming subscribers.
