FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of regulating chemical composition of water in a water cooling tower. The method involves providing a tower cooling system and a plurality of pipes though which feed water flows into the tower cooling system. The plurality of pipes includes at least a first pipe having a weakly acidic cation-exchange column, and a second pipe not having a weakly acidic ion-exchange column. A given value of pH and specific conductivity is selected. The pH value and specific conductivity of the cooling water are measured and a reciprocal action is performed over said pH and specific conductivity measurement results.
EFFECT: providing an efficient method of controlling a cooling system which pays attention to both pH and formation of mineral/salt deposits.
