FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire-resistant glasing. The space between two opposite glass panels is filled with a mixture containing a solution of an alkali metal silicate and silicon dioxide sol. The mixture hardens without drying. Water content of the mixture ranges from 35 to 43 wt %.
EFFECT: improved fire resistant properties and reduced susceptibility to creeping of the intermediate layer.
