FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: transparent fire-resistant glazing contains a construction from two sheets of tempered glass, between which a layer of hydrated alkali metal silicate is placed. Edges of the glass sheet, which is the first to be subjected to the fire impact, are non-deckled, uneven, and the sheet has low tensions and/or small thicknesses. Edges of the second glass sheet are matted or polished.
EFFECT: stability of the layer composition, providing glazing transparency, during the required time.
