FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil and gas industry and may be used to detect direction of fluid filtration in a reservoir during field geophysical survey of oil wells. The method to detect dominant direction of fluid filtration in a reservoir consists in portion pumping of a liquid marked with radioactive isotopes into a well and subsequent measurement of gamma radiation. At the same time measurements of gamma radiation intensity are carried out along the well perimetre in the interval of the marked liquid injection before and after injection. A differential curve is built between these measurements, and the dominant direction of fluid filtration in the bed is detected by a form of the differential curve of azimuthal distribution of gamma radiation intensity.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of detecting dominant direction of fluid filtration in a reservoir.
