FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a radio-frequency (RF) coil used as a RF antenna for a magnetic resonance (MR) imaging system, for transmitting RF exciting signals and for receiving MR relaxation signals. According to the invention, the RF coil includes an array of straps which are in capacitive coupling with each other. The array of straps forms a resonance surface on which surface currents can be resonantly excited to generate at least one field mode.
EFFECT: high antenna sensitivity and possibility of controlling the field on three axes.
