MRI SCANNER WITH METASURFACE (OPTIONS) Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B5/55

Abstract RU 2776338 C1

FIELD: medical technology.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical technology and is applicable in the tasks of MRI and spectroscopy. In an MRI scanner with a metasurface, a metasurface is used in the form of parallel non-magnetic conductors made on a dielectric substrate in the form of non-magnetic strips as an additional coil placed in the main coil of the “birdcage” type together with a tuning system of capacitors, counter-switched diodes, inductors and varicaps, as well as with a power source and a transceiver module that is connected to the synchronization module by wireless communication, makes it possible to perform detuning and tuning to a pre-selected metasurface mode in the transmission and reception phases of the MRI scanner pulse sequence during scanning and provides the required depth of penetration of the RF field into the object under study with the best signal-to-noise ratio during reception. In the second version of the device, there is a wired connection of the metasurface with a digital receiving module through a low-noise amplifier.

EFFECT: application of this group of inventions guarantees the safety of the patient located next to the metasurface by implementing three levels of protection built on different physical principles.
