SUBSTANCE: invention relates to magnetic resonance engineering. A magnetic resonance system comprises an array of a radio-frequency (RF) amplifiers, wherein each RF amplifier generates an excitation signal B1 for each of a plurality of transmission channels (Tx); at least one RF coil assembly having multiple coil elements which transmit the generated excitation signal into an examination region and receive magnetic resonance signals therefrom; a plurality of connection panels, each of which connects the RF amplifier to the at least one RF coil assembly via transceiver ports, each transceiver port connecting at least one conductor to an individual transmission channel; a router which selectively routes a generated excitation signal via a corresponding transmission channel (Tx) to at least one transceiver port of any of the plurality of connection panels.
EFFECT: higher image quality.
