FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device has a connector housing for connection with a reciprocal connector, and a clamping sleeve housing in the connector housing. A tube is fitted into the hole of the clamping sleeve housing. The housing part located in the central part of the clamping sleeve housing has a hole for receiving the clamping device which clamps the optical fibre. The tube can move axially independent of the axial movement of the optical fibre and the clamping device. The optical connector is thermally balanced for operation in a temperature range with width of at least 100°C.
EFFECT: ensuring a fixed position of the end of the optical fibre relative the end face of the sleeve in a wide temperature range.
