FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: method involves arranging a first group of identification blocks in real three-dimensional space; forming, in real three-dimensional space, a real physical base system of coordinates fixed to the spatial position of identification blocks of the first group; setting coordinates of three-dimensional virtual objects created in advance in digital format in real three-dimensional space relative to the real physical base system of coordinates; arranging a second group of identification blocks, setting in real three-dimensional space the position of a fixing point of the virtual pointer; setting, with necessary detailing, coordinates of a collection of a geometrical place of points of the virtual pointer relative the fixing point of the virtual pointer; forming a collection of virtual objects whose coordinates in real three-dimensional space fall in the field calculated taking into account layout of the geometrical location of points of the virtual pointer, falling in the field of coordinates of working area of display devices; performing given virtual operations on modification of virtual objects from the formed collection of virtual objects.

EFFECT: design of a method of positioning an indicator, which control objects in a virtual three-dimensional space, the position of which is set accurately in a physical coordinate system.
