FIELD: inspection of mining equipment.

SUBSTANCE: examples of mining equipment are mill, crusher, grinder. Disclosed is a computer-implemented method for virtual inspection of the interior of mining equipment, which includes: obtaining a first data set, wherein the first data set contains data points with coordinates of the interior of the mining equipment; converting the obtained first data set into a second data set, wherein the second data set is adapted for use by the virtual or augmented reality device to represent the interior of the mining equipment; directing at least one user during the virtual inspection of the inside of the mining equipment based on the second data set by moving the visual perception of said at least one user of the virtual or augmented reality device to one or more points of interest of the inner part of the mining equipment. Also disclosed is a non-transitory computer-readable medium for storing information, storing a computer program, which, when executed by a computer, causes the computer to implement the above method.

EFFECT: high accuracy and information content of the obtained data on mining equipment during inspection with simultaneous reduction of the duration of the inspection.
