SUBSTANCE: in the method, equipment determines the carrier of current physical data of an object. The physical data used is the magnitude of the magnetic vector of the object. The value of change in the obtained physical data is compared with a known law of their variation with change in the relative position of the carrier and the object. The problem of relative displacement of the object and the carrier on a plane or in space is solved.

EFFECT: possibility of determining coordinates of an object only based on change in characteristics of its magnetic field.
