FIELD: hydro acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydro acoustics, namely to passive methods for determining coordinates (bearing and distance) and the parameters of the movement (course and speed) of marine sound-producing target (hereinafter referred to as MNPT) according to the information of the sound locating stations (hereinafter referred to as SLS), installed on mobile carriers (submarines, surface ships, submarines) or permanently. This technical result is achieved by measuring the bearing array, measuring the target signal parameters necessary for determining the target type and estimating the distance to it by passive methods; determining the type of target and estimating the distance to it using the target signal parameters; determining probability distribution of the target speed, characteristic of a given class of purpose; determining the probability distribution of estimates of bearings and distances.
EFFECT: reduced time of the determination of the MNPT without special maneuvering of the SLS carrier.
