FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves reaction of a copolymer solution in a low-boiling point organic solvent with potassium hydroxide solution in low-molecular weight aliphatic alcohol and then holding the reaction mass while stirring and extracting the end product. The organic solvent must mix well with water and must not react with potassium hydroxide at room temperature. The alcohol solution of potassium hydroxide is added gradually while stirring for 0.5-1.5 hours so that temperature in the reactor does not go up by more than 5°C. The reaction mass is held for 3-5 hours. The process is carried out with weight ratio copolymer: potassium hydroxide equal to 100:8-32.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain vinylidene fluoride copolymers, having high cohesion strength along with good adhesion properties.
