FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus (10) for measuring parameters of a fluid medium has several recording units (30, 40) and a computing unit (50). The second recording unit lies in a channel at a first distance from the first recording unit, and the third recording unit lies in the channel at a second distance from the second recording unit. Said units record parameters which are measured in accordance with variation of the state of the fluid medium. The computing unit calculates the flow rate of the fluid medium based on the time shift (AT) of change in the parameter recorded by the pair of recording units, as well as the distance (L) along the pipeline between said pair of recording units. The computing unit also calculates the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine based on spectral density obtained via frequency analysis of the temperature signal of the exhaust gas or concentration of gas contained in the exhaust gas.

EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring flow rate of fluid medium.
