FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a protection element in the form of a multilayer film element for viewing in a reflected light and in a transmitted light. A protection element has in the first area, being transparent or semi-transparent for an observer, a film substrate and a partial metal reflecting layer. In the first area there are first zones arranged with alternation, in which there is a metal reflecting layer, and second zones, in which the metal reflecting layer is not provided, with the distance between centres of gravity of the surface of serial first zones of less than 300 mcm. The first area has at least one area of an ornament with dimensions of more than 300 mcm and at least one background area bordering the ornament area and at least partially surrounding the ornament area, besides the distance between the second zones in the ornament area following each other differs by 5-30% from the distance between the second zones following each other in the background area, therefore the observer may see information defined by drawing of the ornament area in the transmitted light.

EFFECT: proposed element of protection provides for higher extent of protection against counterfeit, in particular, against copying.
