SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the manufacture of hologram (1), in particular hologram (1) for protective element (1a) and/or protected document (1b). One or more virtual planes (10) are positioned in front of and/or behind one or more virtual models (20), and/or one or more virtual planes (10) are positioned so that they intersect one or more virtual models (20). One or more virtual light sources (30) are located on one or more subareas of surface (21) of one or more of virtual models (20). One or more virtual electromagnetic fields (40) emanating from at least one of virtual light sources (30) in one or more zones (11) of one or more virtual planes (10) of the hologram are calculated. In one or more zones (11), respectively, virtual total electromagnetic field (41) is calculated based on the sum of two or more, in particular all, of virtual electromagnetic fields (40) in corresponding zone (11). One or more phase images (50) are calculated from virtual total electromagnetic fields (41) in one or more zones (11). From one or more phase images (50), profile (60) of heights of hologram (1) is calculated, and profile (60) of heights of hologram (1) is introduced into substrate (2) to provide hologram (1).
EFFECT: invention provides for the reduction in a load, when calculating an initial image for a hologram, including micro-signs.
