FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device for heating metallic material comprises an elongated burner as a burner of type DFI, made as actuated by a gaseous oxidiser and a gaseous fuel and with the ability to move longitudinally and located with respect to the metallic material, a device for supplying the fuel and the oxidiser. The burner contains longitudinal tubular containers for fuel and oxidiser located parallel to each other and relative to the surface of the metallic material. Each of the containers has one or more openings along the container of the openings through which the fuel and the oxidiser are forced to flow out, and then converge in the area of ignition outside of the container where the fire ignites. Appropriate feeding devices are made with a possibility of maintaining the pressure constant throughout the considered container during operation by means of a regulator. Each tank has a longitudinally moving piston to control the longitudinal length of the flame in the longitudinal direction of the containers.
EFFECT: increased uniformity of heating of metal sheets and preventing leakage of the fuel from containers during heating of the sheets.
