FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: metal burner has an operating temperature of not less than about 1200 °C, for a cracking furnace operating at wall temperatures in range of 700 °C to 1350 °C, and includes: substantially metal flow passage defined by at least one surface and having an outlet located downstream, and at least one upstream inlet for at least one gaseous oxidant; contained in said metal flow passage at least one partition, guiding stream of oxidant and fuel on inner surface of burner facing furnace; and optionally one or more arrays of convective heat transfer surfaces selected from webs, ribs, flanges and ledges, to direct flow of said at least one gaseous oxidant along said one or more arrays on inner surface of said substantially metal flow passage. Burner comprises an array of convective heat transfer surfaces, which are ribs defining at least one continuous sequence of parallel channels on at least inner surface of burner sections exposed to cracking furnace.
EFFECT: invention allows improving operating reliability.
