SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. The method of reducing power consumption in N-dimensional context addressable memory is meant for searching for a data element based on a value, having a matrix of cells, each consisting of N memory registers, switches, comparator circuits, merged into groups with a different number of cells in a group. Only a group of N-dimensional cells is provided with electric power, under the condition of a match between the sought data and stored data. In the remaining groups, power to comparator units and adder circuits is switched off using a switch.

EFFECT: reduced power consumption by context addressable memory.
