SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to methods of controlling physiological condition of animals. Method of registering start and finish of cows calving consists in the following: at the beginning of calving cow's croup extends, and at the end of calving - narrows. Extension and narrowing of croup is fixed by sensor and electronic unit, which control distance from it to sensor, antenna of receiver-transmitter, connected with computer through its parallel port, controlling computer program and portable receiver-annunciator, which is in use of operator servicing animals. When cow starts calving, controlling program turns on timer. If calving time, which is controlled by computer timer exceeds zoological norm, computer by means of receiver-transmitter and receiver-annunciator informs operator about emergency situation.

EFFECT: application of claimed invention makes it possible to increase cow's safety and index of calf output per a hundred of cows.
