FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology and aims at full-thickness eyelid reconstruction accompanying anophthalmos. It involves a circumferential incision along a border of preserved periorbital and mucosal skin. This incision is used to dissect tissues through in a sagittal direction to form pedicle flaps of tissues adjoining an orbital wall and based at an orbital edge. These flaps are rotated in a frontal plane; free full-thickness mucosal autografts. The mucosal autografts are transplanted onto posterior surfaces of the flaps and fixed to a border of a proper conjunctiva. The formed cavity is used to place an artificial eye with the free ends of the mucosal autografts and then those of the pedicle flaps are sutured together; thereafter the wound surface is closed with a free full-thickness skin flap. In 3-4 months, eyelashes are transplanted with using eyebrow flaps, and after the latter are engrafted, an eye fissure is formed.

EFFECT: method provides an adequate cosmetic effect with forming two eyelids having a stable frame, anterior and posterior layers, eyelashes, and also a spacious cavity for the artificial eye in anophthalmos.
