FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and may be used for non-urgent colon surgeries. For the purpose of prevention of suppurative septic complications (SSC) in such patients, the method involves the parenteral introduction of Cephalosporin (ceftriaxone) 1.0 g 30 minutes prior to the surgery and 1.0 g twice a day for the two postoperative days. It is combined with the oral introduction of rifaximin 400 mg three times a day for the two preoperative and two postoperative days. At the final stage of the surgery, the wound closure is preceded by the single 10-minute irrigation of the abdominal cavity with ozonised physiologic saline bubbled to the concentration of 8-9 mg/l.
EFFECT: method allows reducing rate of developing SSC, clostridium-associated complications in the form of antibiotic-associated diarrhoeas and pseudomembranous colitis, and also decreasing toxic systemic action of antibiotics and their side effects.
