FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used for production of blower blades. Blade metal front edge is produced by cutting and moulding of long metal section. Said metal section has front and rear edges extending over the section length and features, mainly, tapered cross-section. Note here that opposite sides diverge from front side to rear side. Inside cavity extends from rear edge to front edge. This imparts V-like cross-section to said section with opposite side walls diverging rearward from front edge. Mandrel is fitted into said cavity to deflect side walls of V-like section toward each other to compress cavity to mandrel shape. Then, said section is fitted as metal front edge by inserting blower blade element into compressed cavity and securing said section to element.
EFFECT: higher quality.
