FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing stable lactide particles used to produce polylactic acid. The method involves bringing a continuous stream of molten lactide into contact with a surface with subsequent hardening of the lactide melt and removal of solid lactide in form of particles from said surface. Temperature of the surface is lower than the melting point of lactide.
EFFECT: obtaining lactide particles which are stable during storage and transportation at room temperature and having sufficiently high quality for use as starting material for producing polylactic acid.
