FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a modified conjugated diene polymer. The method involves (A) a primary modification reaction by reacting a heterocumulene compound (a), having two or more functional groups of general formula X=C=Y, where X denotes a carbon atom or a nitrogen atom and Y denotes an oxygen atom, a nitrogen atom or a sulphur atom, with a conjugated diene polymer. Said polymer has content of vinyl groups less than 10%, content of cis-1,4-bonds equal to or greater than 75% and has an active terminal group. Step (B) for secondary modification involves a reaction between a hydrocarbon compound (b), containing active hydrogen, and a primary-modified conjugated diene polymer until a secondary-modified conjugated diene polymer is obtained. Compound (b) has one or more functional groups selected from a group consisting of amino group, imino group, mercapto group and hydroxyl group. The amount of each of the components (a) and (b) ranges from 0.02 to 20 moles. The invention also relates to a rubber composition, a tyre component containing said rubber composition, and a tyre casing having said tyre component. The rubber composition contains the obtained modified conjugated diene polymer and technical carbon and/or silicon dioxide.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain a modified conjugated diene polymer characterised by low heat buildup (low fuel consumption) and excellent wear-resistance.
