FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: method for enlarging the burner size of gas turbine engine, which contains the burner housing, is described; at that, the above burner has the following: end parts opposite in axial direction and located upstream and downstream; fuel and air is on upstream end of the above burner, which are supplied in the form of air mixed with fuel from the channel outlet for preliminary mixing in order to maintain the main flame on the downstream end of the above burner; at that, the above channel for preliminary mixing is restricted at its outlet with circular inner wall formed with internal section of refractory arch and circular outer wall formed with external section of refractory arch. The method involves the following steps: increase in the burner size by adding the section of refractory arch to the outer side and by enveloping the above external section of refractory arch; as a result, in annular space between the added section of refractory arch and the existing external section of refractory arch there formed is additional channel for pre-mixing, which is restricted at its outlet with internal wall formed with the above external section of refractory arch and circular external wall formed with the added section of refractory arch. The above section of refractory arch restricts the combustion space in order to keep the above main flame of the above burner; at that, external section of refractory arch has larger diameter than neighbouring internal section of refractory arch does, and passes downstream through larger distance than the neighbouring internal section of refractory arch does.

EFFECT: invention allows changing the burner size.
