FIRE-RESISTANT BURNER ARCHES Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC F23R3/28 F23R3/34

Abstract RU 2460944 C2

FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: fire-resistant burner (1) arch for gas-turbine engine; the above burner (1) includes end parts opposite in axial direction, located upstream and downstream and having the possibility of receiving mixed fuel and air, which are subject to combustion in main flame (7) of burner (1); at that, the above fire-resistant arch (4a, 4b, 4c) has the possibility of retaining the above main flame (7); the above fire-resistant arch is formed of many sections (4a, 4b, 4c) of fire-resistant arch. Each section (4a, 4b, 4c) of fire-resistant arch has configuration of conical cover of flattened cone and distributed in series one after the other downstream in the flow direction of burner (1). The narrowest part of cover of downstream located fire-resistant arch section (4b) has larger width in comparison to the widest part of downstream located cover end of upstream located section (4a) of fire-resistant arch, annular channel (10, 11) for pre-mixed air and fuel is located between two sections (4a, 4b) of fire-resistant arch, which follow each other Half the angle α of fire-resistant arch exceeds 20 degrees and constitutes less than 25 degrees for each of the above sections (4a, 4b, 4c) of fire-resistant arch. Length L of fire-resistant arch containing the above sections (4a, 4b, 4c) of fire-resistant arch exceeds L/D=0.5 and length L of fire-resistant arch is less than L/D=2, where D - diameter of fire-resistant arch on its downstream end; preferably, length L of fire-resistant arch is about L/D=1. The narrowest part of upstream located section (4b) of fire-resistant arch covers approximately 1/3 of the widest part of the nearest upstream section (4a) of fire-resistant arch if to look along axial direction of fire-resistant arch.

EFFECT: stabilisation of combustion process in the burner.
