FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: in the space surrounding a user, a sensor region is selected; each sensor region is associated with one or more expected gestures and each combination of sensor region and gesture is associated with one command; the position of the eyes of the user, the position of the head of the user and position of the hands of the user are determined; the arbitrary line of sight from the organ of sight of the user and directed to point in surrounding space seen by the user is determined; it is determined whether the arbitrary line of sight is directed onto the sensor region; the hand gesture of the user is analysed and if the gesture is made simultaneously with direction of the arbitrary line of sight onto the sensor region, the a command is sent to the controlled device, which is associated with the given combination of the sensor region and the gesture made. A 3D sensor for realising the method is disclosed.
EFFECT: increased variety of perceived gestures, including simultaneous perception of large and small gestures, improved selectivity of recognising gestures, minimising time spent on recognising a gesture and sending the command to the device.
