FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: in the method of automatic control of copper content in the matte, which includes continuous monitoring of the process parameters, adjusting of the control parameters to stabilise the copper content in the matte, the total flow of charge materials is selected as the main parameter, and its range is divided into areas: G-1 (less than 60 t/h), G0 (from 60 to 180 t/h), G+1 (more than 180 t/h), and depending on which area the main parameter is in the total flow of the charge materials is changed as well as the total consumption of bulk oxygen until area G0 is reached, additionally the ratio of bulk oxygen consumption per a ton of the charge materials is determined and in case a gradient of its change exceeds 10% of the scheduled one the total flow of the charge materials and bulk oxygen is adjusted depending on which area the main parameter is in until G0 is reached.

EFFECT: improved technical and economic parameters of melting of copper-nickel sulfide raw material in Vanyukov's furnace by increasing the copper content in matte and stabilising the copper content in matte.
