FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: anode current lead of aluminium electrolytic cell consisting of a vertically incremental rod is made of ceramic open-porous and isotropic-structured elements with a porosity of at least 70% and joined at the junction creating electrical contact and with pore sizes of less than 5 microns, based on aluminium oxide and the components that increase a wetting ability of aluminium, while the pores are filled with aluminium or aluminium alloys, with the lateral surface of the ceramic element being covered by a shell made of electrically conductive material having a melting point not lower than 950 °C.
EFFECT: increased contact area of the carbon anode with the current lead, prevention of formation of cavities in the anode and reduction of the anode electrical resistance.
