FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to anode device of electrolysis cell with self-baking anode and upper current lead for aluminum production. Anode device comprises a coal anode with rods bored into it, supplying current from anode bus to anode, made of technical Al with Mn alloy with Mn content of 20–42 wt.% and melting point of 920–950 °C and provided with thread at the ends.
EFFECT: possibility of simultaneous consumption of anode and current-conducting pins by their melting at lowering to electrolyte and transition into cathode aluminum, excluding operation of repositioning pins, improving current distribution in anode, reducing voltage drop, power consumption and anode and improving technical and economic performance of electrolysis cell and anode device.
