FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in periodic intake of water samples from various sources. Chemical treatment of the taken water samples is performed on the territory of the origin itself for deposition of the solved forms of non-organic carbon. Deposits are taken and treated with acid in order to extract CO2. The latter is caught with coolers. Mass-spectrometer measurement of δ13C content in CO2 is performed. Spatial-temporal change of δ13C content of various taken samples is compared in order to detect the wells showing premature injected water breakthrough.
EFFECT: improving detection efficiency of premature breakthrough of injected water and its flow.
