FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of controlling production of hydrocarbons when monitoring a reservoir using data on clumped isotopes, data on inert gases or a combination of data on clumped isotopes and inert gases. Method includes obtaining a sample of one of one or more underground regions, interpretation of sample for determining a signature of an inert gas and signature of clumped isotope of hydrocarbon for obtained samples, formation of characteristic feature of region of interest, having signature of inert gas and signature of clumped isotope of hydrocarbon for obtained samples, extraction of fluids from one of one or more underground regions, wherein produced fluids contain hydrocarbons, and monitoring reservoir with respect to fluids, produced from one of one or more underground regions.
EFFECT: high efficiency of monitoring.
