SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting from the circular area of one or more tubes of the type used for the construction of pipelines, forming almost flat parallel surfaces at the ends of the annular area, provision of equipment for measuring strain and deformation of the annular area; installation of the annular area in a high-pressure chamber in such a way that its ends shaped pads with opposite sides of the chamber to isolate the interior of the annular area from the influence from outside, increasing the pressure outside the annular area, so that pressure can affect only the outer surface of the annular area, and measure its tension and strain with increasing pressure, and use of the results of measurements of deformation and strain to determine the wall thickness of pipes to be used for the construction of the pipeline. The device comprises the first and second sections of the testing chamber which, when placed together, form a test chamber to contain the section of the annular area tested, one or more sensors for measuring strain and deformation of the annular area; sealing means placed in the chamber to create a spacer on the edges of the annular area set in the chamber; means for fastening the first and second sections together to form a chamber and adhesion of sealant means with the annular area, set in the chamber to create a spacer for counter pressure between the inner and outer parts of the annular area, and the inlet for fluid in one section of the chamber to enable supply of pressurised fluid into the chamber outside the annular area, installed in the chamber.
EFFECT: provision of reproducibility of the impact of external pressures that can destroy the long-distance pipelines, and ease of planning and execution.
