METHOD OF TESTING TUBE STEELS ON STRESS CORROSION CRACKING AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC G01N17/00 G01N33/20

Abstract RU 2666161 C1

FIELD: test technology.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to the testing of pipe steels on the tendency to stress corrosion cracking. In the method for testing the tubular steels on the SCC, a sample is cut out from the wall of the trunk gas pipe and/or from the unexploited pipe. Working part of the sample contains at least two sections with different surface widths, one of which has a variable width. Sample is subjected to low-frequency cyclic loading, setting the upper stress level in the sample equal to the maximum annular tensile stresses in the MG and the lower level equal to 0.2 from the yield strength of the pipe steel, at the same time, the working part of the sample is continuously washed with a circulating corrosive solution. Tests of tubular steels on the propensity to SCC are carried out with the aid of a device including a loading stand, a circulation system for corrosive medium, a compressor equipped with a receiver.

EFFECT: increasing the reliability of the results of ongoing research.
