FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: this invention deals with a direct arc plasma burner containing a shell (25) cooled with a fluid medium (21) and an electrode penetrating into the said shell. The electrode is made of a disposable material. The burner contains a means (80) for feeding the electrode with the said material so that to compensate for the electrode erosion as well as means for enveloping the electrode with a neutral and plasma-supporting gas in the said shell inner cavity.
EFFECT: reduction of the burner dimensions and installation and maintenance simplification.
